Kumail Zaidi Wins 2020 Harvard Westlake Debates

Congratulations to Kumail Zaidi from Oak Hall for winning the 2020 Harvard Westlake Debates and winning top speaker. In finals, Kumail defeated Rex Evans from Santa Monica on a 2-1 decision (Sudesh, Sherwood, Pandey*). Rex is a TDI alum and will be a member of the TDI faculty this summer.

We’d like to commend all of our TDI alumni for their success this weekend. Alums made up at least 50% of participants in the octofinal, quarterfinal, semifinal, and final rounds.

In particular, we’d like to congratulate TDI alums Rex Evans (Finals), Anish Ramireddy (Sems), Parth Dhanotra, Kabir Dubey, Felicity Park (Quarters), Jacob Spiegelman, Lucas Hunter, Kavin Kumaravel, Tarun Ratnasabapathy (Octos), Krish Kapoor, Linus Epstein, Anurag Rao, Shray Patel, and Ethan Elasky (Doubles) for reaching elimination rounds.
