Find information below about transportation and making travel arrangements for our Oregon and San Jose programs!
The Debate Intensive at Oregon
Flying to Camp
If you are flying to camp, we provide shuttle transportation to and from the University of Oregon campus and the following airports: Eugene Airport (EUG) and Portland International Airport (PDX). Transportation is scheduled for the start and end dates of each session: June 23 (Core Session start), July 14 (Core Session end and Focus Session start), and July 28 (Focus Session end).
If you are flying into EUG, you should arrive between 9:00am and 5:00pm. We recommended that you fly into EUG, if you have the option to do so.
If you are flying into PDX, you should arrive between 12:00pm and 6:00pm. Busses leave from PDX at 12:00pm, 3:00pm, and 6:00pm. The drive from PDX to the University of Oregon is about an hour and a half in length.
Flights departing from both airports should be scheduled between 9:00am and 3:00pm. If you choose to arrive or depart from airports other than EUG and PDX, please ensure that you make your own transportation arrangements.
TDI staff members will be waiting to welcome you at the baggage claim. Our staff will accompany you on the shuttles to and from the University of Oregon campus.
Driving to Camp and Commuting
If you plan to drive to camp, please arrive at the University of Oregon by 7:00pm on Sunday, June 23 for the Core Session or Sunday, July 14 for the Focus Session. Check-in will take place in the lobby of our dorm building, Straub Hall, located at 1451 Onyx St, Eugene, OR 97403. Parking is available in lot 29A if needed. A campus map is attached here.
Camp begins at 9:00am and ends at 8:00pm each day, with optional activities ending at 10:00pm. You should arrive at camp at 9:00am and be picked up at 8:00pm, unless you choose to stay for the optional activities (which we recommend you do!).
The Debate Intensive at San Jose
Flying to Camp
If you are flying to camp, we provide transportation to and from the San Jose State University campus and the Mineta San Jose Airport (SJC). Transportation is scheduled for the start and end dates of the San Jose session: Sunday, July 28, and Sunday, August 11. Please arrive between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Departing flights should be scheduled between 9:00am and 3:00pm. If you choose to arrive or depart from an airport other than SJC, please ensure that you make your own transportation arrangements.

Check-in will take place in the lobby of our dorm building, Campus Village 2, located at 375 S 9th St, San Jose, CA 95112. Parking is available in the 7th Street garage if needed. If you are commuting to camp, you can be dropped off and picked up outside of Campus Village 2, or you may be dropped off at the intersection of 9th Street and San Salvador Street.
